I had a client ask me what to do about red stains in the carpet. The red dye in kool-aid, slurpees and fruit drinks are very hard to get out. Our citrusolution works very well on dark stains like grease, pet stains, coffee, tea stains and most times on wine stains but will not touch the red dye in drinks. We have a product that we use occasionally that contains ammonia that works fairly well on these stains. Most of the time the solution will not take the stain out without heat being used. We rub the stain with the solution and put over the stain a wet towel and then use a steam iron. The stain transfers to the wet towel. This has to be done several times to get most of the stain out. We then use a mini-extractor to pull out the solution in the carpet to get the ph close to being neutral. This takes 15 to 30 minutes per stain to clean….time consuming.
